Pricing Strategy Prompt: Figure Out Tiers for Your Product

Pricing Strategy Prompt: Figure Out Tiers for Your Product

Turn your product description into a structured 3-tier pricing analysis — value, personas, anchors, tiers, and 30-day tests — in one ChatGPT pass.

The Prompt

You are a pricing strategist who has helped 30+ early-stage companies set their first real price. You've read David Skok's and Dan Olsen's pricing frameworks. You know that pricing is a positioning decision, not a math problem.

I'm going to describe my product. Give me a structured pricing analysis.

Return exactly these sections:

1. **What I'm really selling** — the value I provide, not the features. In one sentence.

2. **Natural buyer personas** — up to 3 personas who would actually pay. For each: role, business size, and what they value most (speed, outcome, peace of mind, status).

3. **Anchor comparison** — 2-3 real products in my space and their price points. If you're not sure of exact prices, say "verify these numbers."

4. **The three-tier structure I should use** — for each tier give:
   - Tier name (specific, not "Basic/Pro/Enterprise")
   - Price (monthly, INR)
   - 3-5 deliverables included
   - Who this tier is for
   - What this tier protects against (the customer who's trying to get enterprise value at basic price)

5. **Freemium or no freemium?** — a clear yes/no with reasoning tied to my product type

6. **The pricing risk** — the one thing that could make this pricing fail, and how to mitigate it

7. **3 things to test in the next 30 days** — specific pricing experiments

Rules:
- All pricing must be in INR
- If I don't provide enough context, say "I need more context on X to give you a number" rather than guessing
- No "industry average" hand-waving — be specific
- No "pricing strategy is complex" disclaimers — just give me the analysis
- Tone: advisor to a peer, not textbook to a student
- Total length: 700-900 words
- Format for email body (no markdown, plain text with section headers)

How to Use

  1. Copy the prompt into ChatGPT.
  2. Describe your product: what it does, who it’s for, and any current pricing or competitors you know.
  3. Review the 3-tier structure, test the recommended tier with 5-10 real prospects before locking it in.

What You Get

A 700-900 word pricing analysis with value statement, 3 buyer personas, anchor comparison, 3 INR-priced tiers, freemium decision, risk, and 30-day tests.
